Torquay's International Agatha Christie Festival is back this September to coincide with the 15th September anniversary of the author's birth.
The festival opens on 11th September with Agatha Christie's grandson opening an exhibition about her life travelling the Middle East following the death of her mother and break up of her marriage to Archie Christie. These travels led to her marriage to Max Mallowan, the archaeologist.
On the subsequent days there are a whole of events including talks and lectures, film showings, theatrical productions and even wild swimming events from the very beaches Agatha used to swim from.
There is also an event at Dartmoor Prison which relfects upon Dartmoor in Agatha Christie's stories as well as those of Arthur Conan Doyle.
