Torwood - close to Torquay Harbour
The Bedford House Apartments are situated in the Torwood area of Torquay which is just a short walk up from Torquay harbour. With the advantage of being close to both the harbour and town centre it is one of the best locations for a stay on The English Riviera. Most things such as restaurants, bars and cafes are within an easy walk of the apartments and for guests visiting for a show at The Princess Theatre it is a very convenient location.
Torquay Museum is just a three or four minute away from The Bedford House Apartments and is a great place to explore at all times of the year. Its temporary exhibitions are particularly worth seeing. It is also the only museum in the country with a dedicated Agatha Christie Gallery. It also has an Explorers Gallery which features artefacts relating to colonel Percy Fawcett the inspiration behind Indiana Jones.
Opposite the Museum is Torwood Gardens, a wonderful space to take a gentle stroll particularly if you have a four legged friend with you.
Slightly further down the road but still only about six minutes from the Bedford House Apartments, is the AMF bowling centre. This is a great place for families to let off steam and really get into the competetive spirit.
The Torwood Area - A wide range of places to eat
Further down the road (and beyond the traffic lights) Babbacombe Road becomes Torwood Street and here a large number of restaurants can be found. With everything from Indian, Vietnamese, Greek, Italian and American not forgetting English Fish and chips there is almost literally a world of food close to The Bedford House Apartments.
At the bottom of the road is the beautiful Torquay harbour.
