The Muntham Apartments and Town House have been created within a wonderful historic Torquay villa. Whilst they enjoy every modern convenience, they have retained many original features and the charm of the original Victorian building.
On offer are two large one bedroom apartments on the ground floor, two boutique one bedroom apartments on the first floor together with two luxury studio apartments on the first floor. Added to these is the magnificent three bedroom Town House with its own private garden and hot tub.
The Muntham Apartments & Town House have been formed within a fine old Victorian villa whose early inhabitants included a glass merchant, a sea captain, a colonial judge and a heart specialist.
The property is extremely well maintained with owners living onsite.
There is plenty of parking for all guests and there are communal gardens available for all guests to use.
Dogs are welcome in all of our apartments at Muntham and also in the Town house. We have lots of information available so that our guests with dogs can make the most of their break in Torquay and south Devon.
From our reviews you will see that although we dearly love our four legged friends, we always ensure, by rigorous cleaning, that only the fond memories of them linger once they have departed for home.
A great number of people add a visit to the theatre during their stay in the area and The Muntham Apartments are ideally placed for theatre breaks. The Babbacombe Theatre is a five minute car or taxi journey away whilst The Princess Theatre on Torquay seafront and The Little Theatre in Meadfoot can be reached in less than ten minutes.
It is a short walk down to St Matthias' Church from the apartments which makes them well placed for guests attending special events such as weddings or christenings.
The Muntham Luxury Apartments and Town House are to be found in Wellswood, a leafy residential part of Torquay which is just a short distance from Torquay harbour and town centre but which is also close to Babbacombe and St Marychurch.
As a result of their closeness to it, the apartments are ideally placed for guests to take full advantage of all that "Wellswood Village" has to offer. This heart of the neighbourhood includes a patisserie, a delicatessen, beauty salons, hair salons, cafes, a wine bar, a pub, a newsagent and a mini supermarket and much else besides.
The apartments also make a wonderful base from which to explore The English Riviera.
The internationally important Kent's Cavern is but a ten to fifteen minute stroll away, whilst the nearest beach is about twelve minutes away on foot and the stunning Walls Hill cliff top area (site of an Iron Age Fort) is about a fifteen minute walk.
The close proximity of key bus routes (a five minute walk from the apartments ) also means that guests can leave their car behind in the car park and enjoy a car free break.
Buses to and from Torquay harbour and town centre take about five minutes whilst those to Babbacombe and St Marychurch also take five and ten minutes respectively.
Some buses go further afield and it is possible to travel as far as Teignmouth and Dawlish in one direction and Paignton and Brixham in another without changing buses.
It is even possible to travel as far as Exeter and Plymouth.
Equally, guests can access the wide variety of English Riviera attractions such as Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Torquay Musuem, The National Trust properties of Coleton Fishacre, Greenway and Compton Castle and Torre Abbey in less than half an hour by car.
